ABOUT AACT
Conflict and Violence Prevention Programs for Public Schools |
Are angry and argumentative visitors affecting your school? Dealing ineffectively with intimidating visitors often wastes valuable time and energy. Combative demands for immediate attention often disrupt the culture of the office for the rest of the day. Is the barrage of defiant student behavior whittling away the patience of the staff? Staff members often feel fearful or powerless when faced with aggressive or non-compliant students.
Are you getting it right? Providing leadership, enforcing policy, resolving problems, maintaining control and civility in situations where emotions run high and people have different agendas is a difficult task, at best.
Can you make things better? Making things safer, less volatile, requires specific identifiable skills. Not simple luck.
Without adequate training, school personnel miss numerous problem-resolving opportunities, and additionally, run the risk of creating problems that did not previously exist. Your AACT educated staff will respond appropriately to the challenges of the modern school environment - and get it right. AACT - Awareness, Attitude, Communication, Training is a comprehensive set of practical and easy-to-use skills for successfully negotiating socially awkward, angry, or combative situations.
AACT - Conflict and Violence Prevention Programs for Public Schools provide on-site training in the verbal, emotional and physical interpersonal skills school administrators and personnel need. Our focus on interpersonal dynamics, and our what to do training emphasis is unique, and goes to the heart of protecting the educational environment. The key to the AACT Program is our emphasis on four focus areas for successfully dealing with confrontational and potentially and violent situations:
We directly address recent Cal/OSHA standards recommending the implementation of prevention plans and training related to workplace violence. We believe that a workforce educated and trained to respond appropriately to work related conflict and the threat of violence stand a substantially greater chance of avoiding injury and the emotional trauma associated with assault. AACT programs are FUN and EXCITING! They RAISE MORALE and MOTIVATE personnel to be more PROACTIVE and MORE EFFECTIVE! We modify all materials to meet time constraints; satisfy the requirements of specific districts, departments and student groups; and address a wide variety of job classifications such as administrators, teachers, reception/clerical staff, campus-aids, and general support staff. You may request training by filling out the online form located here, or contact us directly by visiting our contact page here. |
